Apps from scratch

It is a rule that apps must be coded from scratch.

I am already thinking in some ideas for my app at the hackathon, and started making some tests in order to be prepared. I will be developing my app from scratch, but is it possible to bring some diagrams, notes, and code snippets to the hackathon in order to have some orientation when developing it from scratch? When I say diagrams, notes, and code snippets I mean bring them in printed paper.

Thanks for your answer.

Thinking about ideas in advance is fair game. But all the code in the app you submit has to be written during the hackathon or an allowable technology per the rules (i.e: open source). You cannot bring in your own code snippets. If you have diagrams or notes you may bring them but must disclose them to the judges. Please be sure to read the rules at https://developer.salesforce.com/million-dollar-hackathon/2014-rules.pdf?v=3 for more details.

The rules mention (section 5 - General App Requirements) that if you have an idea before the event you need to disclose, via an affidavit, the extent to which you have previously developed the idea, etc.

"...you must declare that fact and the details associated with it to us in an affidavit that we will require in connection with your submission."

To whom should this affidavit be submitted, by when does it need to be received, how should it be submitted and how detailed does it need to be?

Do you have any examples from last year we can use to guide the disclosure.

    Thanks!

Hi there, we'll have the affidavit for you onsite at the event. It needs to be in by 12pm Sunday. The more detail the better! We'll have it for you to review when you arrive.

Is it ok if my notes include the porcess my app has to follow? My app involves very complex processes, and it would be almost imposible to memorize them. I will NOT include any type of code.
