Judging Flow and Criteria
Judging Flow
Round 1 Judging
Sunday 1:00pm-3:00pm
The first round of judging is science-fair style and runs from 1:00-3:00pm on Sunday. Science-fair judging means that all teams will demo at their tables allowing both judges and peers to see your work. The order in which you will demo will be assigned ahead of time. At least one person per team must be present to demo in order to be scored by the judges.
Note: No salesforce.com or BeMyApp employees will be judges in any of the rounds.
You will have 3 minutes, including Q&A, to demonstrate your app to a panel of 3 judges
You may utilize no more than one presentation slide as part of your demonstration
Each judge will record his/her score and feedback on a confidential score sheet
Each winning submission will be subjected to code review and eligibility compliance
Judges within a panel will be allowed time to deliberate to ensure that all the expertise of the judges is brought to bear on judging each project. Judges are responsible for no ties within their panel. In case of ties within a category, a separate tie-breaking panel of judges will be assigned to break ties within a category.
30 winners will be announced at 6:00pm on Sunday, in addition to the open source and sponsor prize winners. The top 15 winners (5 per category) will proceed onto Round 2 of Judging.
Round 2 Judging
Tuesday 11:00am - 1:00pm
Round 2 takes place in the Developer Zone at Dreamforce. All people who have registered for the hackathon have a FREE pass to access the Developer Zone all week.
15 semi-finalists will demo their app to a panel of 5 new judges in the Developer Zone.
Each team will have 3 minutes to demonstrate their app and additional 2 minutes for Q&A with the judges
Judges will record their scores and feedback on private score sheets
Judges will deliberate and review all projects to ensure that all the expertise of the judges is brought to bear on judging each project
After the judges have finalized their scores, they will enter them into a spreadsheet tab. BeMyApp will notify judges if they have any ties, which the judges will resolve. Based on their scores, the rankings for each team in each of the 3 main categories are determined.
The 3rd, 4th, and 5th place winners for each category will be announced in the Developer Zone on Tuesday. The 1st and 2nd place winners will be revealed in a session after the final Dreamforce Q&A on Thursday afternoon in Moscone West at 3:30 pm.
